1. Jones already showing plenty of potential

No matter what takes place during the 2019 season, chances are Jones is going to continue showing signs of being a work in progress, which is completely fine for the Giants.

With all due respect since anything can happen over the next couple of months, but all signs at the moment point to New York being in for another year of rebuilding, especially after losing Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason.

One of the main reasons why there has been so much talk over the possibility of Jones being inserted right away as a rookie has been due to the fact that it’s highly unlikely the Giants will emerge as serious contenders in the NFC this year.

New York is already at a major disadvantage playing in the NFC East when looking at how each of the other three rivals seems capable of making a run at the playoffs.

And even if Saquon Barkley follows up with a strong sophomore campaign, there’s only so much the Giants running back can do on his own without the proper support.

This season may turn out to be another frustrating one in New York if the team goes through rebuilding as expected, but at least the potential displayed by Jones in the preseason shows how bright the future could be.
