2. More pressure on Prescott

For the Cowboys frustrated over Elliott’s holdout lasting thing long, at least Dak Prescott decided to show up for camp and preseason since the Dallas quarterback has been looking for a new deal as well.

One of the biggest topics of discussion this summer has been whether Prescott deserves to be paid as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

From the perspective of the Cowboys winning the NFC East in two of the last three seasons, it’s easy to make a case to reward Prescott with the kind of money he’s looking for.

However, when looking at the numbers Prescott has displayed over the last three seasons, it would be wise for Dallas to hold off a little longer since the last thing they can afford to do right now is overpay him.

Whether Prescott wants to hear it or not, Elliott’s holdout will put a ton of extra pressure on the quarterback under center if he’s going to have to run the offense without his beloved running back.

Over the last three years, Dallas has been fortunate enough to see a dynamic duo continue to get better with experience in Prescott and Elliott.

But with Elliott missing in action, it will be interesting to see how Prescott adjusts on offense.
