Cleveland Browns: 7-Round 2020 mock draft before the new season
By Cory Kinnan
3.87: Leki Fotu, DT, Utah
Behind Sheldon Richardson and Larry Ogunjobi exists a lack of depth along the interior of the defensive trenches in Cleveland. Behind the two starters are Devaroe Lawrence and Daniel Ekuale, both are first-year players on an active roster in their career; the Browns could upgrade by using a day two pick on a nice rotational piece along their defensive line.
Utah’s Leki Fotu is quite the monster of a man, listed at 6-5 and 335 pounds and would certainly have the ability to keep offensive lineman from reaching the second level and clear of the linebackers. He is entering his senior season for the Utes, and put on a show in their Week 1 matchup against Brigham Young with two tackles for loss and three solo tackles.
Last year, the big man tallied 3.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss along Utah’s defensive front, while adding 3.5 tackles for loss as a sophomore as well. For a big man, Fotu has the ability to wreak havoc in opponent’s backfield and is more than just a gap stuffer as former Brown Danny Shelton was.
With their third pick in this 2020 mock draft, the Browns add Fotu, who gives them a huge bump in talent along their defensive front. Richardson and Ogunjobi rejoice as they can now come off the field for some oxygen.
