When it comes to the best-case scenario for the Minnesota Vikings, a finish with double-digit wins in the regular season isn’t out of the question.

More from NFL Spin Zone

If Minnesota is able to secure 10, 11 or even 12 wins throughout the year, that could likely be enough to put it atop or right near the top of the NFC North at the end of the year.

The good news for the Vikings is that they are a tough team to play at US Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis, thanks to endless sellouts and tireless crowds in the loud new stadium. Since the stadium opened up prior to the start of the 2016-17 NFL season, Minnesota is 17-7 in front of its home crowd and have held a winning record in all three of those years.

It also helps that Minnesota’s eight-game home schedule is packed with a good amount of games it should be able to win, including games against the Oakland Raiders in Week 3, New York Giants in Week 5, Washington Redskins in Week 8 and Detroit Lions in Week 14. Those are games the Vikings will likely be favored in coming into those weeks.

During the 2017-18 campaign, Minnesota held a record of 7-1 at home and that record or something very similar could happen once again this season.

When it comes to the Vikings road games, they have a much tougher road schedule which could result in tough losses away from US Bank Stadium.

A few notable games that will be tough for Minnesota on the road will be against at the Green Bay Packers in Week 2, at the Chicago Bears in Week 4, at the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9, at the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13 and at the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. All five of those games will take place in hard-to-play stadiums against playoff-caliber opponents.

If the Vikings can remain healthy for the entire season and play up to their potential, they are certainly capable of putting together a double-digit win total and earn a spot in the playoffs when the regular season comes to a close.
