Antonio Brown could never end up playing for the Oakland Raiders. If he is released, which NFL teams should still take a chance on the star wide receiver?

Just when you thought the Antonio Brown situation had mellowed, the mercurial wide receiver is back at it with the Oakland Raiders. His feet are healed and he has a suitable helmet now but he’s also possibly on his way out of the Bay Area.

On Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Brown confronted Raiders general manager Mike Mayock on Wednesday and the two were in a heated argument over a letter Mayock sent to the wide receiver regarding fines. Now, the team is reportedly set to suspend the mercurial star. Even more interestingly, a suspension could be handed down with the intention of voiding Brown’s contract guarantees.

As noted by Schefter on SportsCenter, that potential void of guarantees could mean that Brown never plays a regular-season down with the Raiders. Just mere months after Oakland traded for him and gave the receiver a pay raise, he could be on his way out.

At the same time, though, no one can deny Brown’s on-field abilities. Subsequently, should he hit the market again, teams could well make a play for his services. These are five possible NFL landing spots for Antonio Brown that would make sense for the team and player.

5. Buffalo Bills

Prior to the Raiders trading for Antonio Brown, it was nearly a done deal that the wide receiver was heading to the Buffalo Bills. However, the pass-catcher strong-armed his way out of that trade happening, leaving Bills fans empty-handed. Now that he may come available once again, though, they could get back into the mix for No. 84.

The focus of the Bills this offseason was putting second-year quarterback Josh Allen in a better position moving forward. They did so by upgrading the offensive line and adding new pass-catching weapons, namely Cole Beasley and John Brown.

While Beasley and Brown are fine players, Brown is substantially superior to both in terms of on-field talent and production. Buffalo would certainly have to weigh the risk of trying to sign a player like Brown and adding him to a locker room with a young quarterback — and Brown would have to swallow his pride to head there. Even still, the fit is obvious in terms of what’s needed on the field.
