Giants aren’t exactly frightening

After two-straight seasons of finishing last in the NFC East, the Giants are far away from the team that won the Super Bowl less than a decade ago. New York has finished with a winning record once since 2013 and all signs are pointing to another disappointing finish this season as well.

Despite their struggles last year though, the Giants were actually a pretty competitive team on the road. Three of New York’s five wins last season came outside of their home stadium and their five road losses were only by an average of 3.2 points.

Still, there is nothing about the Giants’ current roster that indicates they will be successful in 2019. They have an aging quarterback in Eli Manning who could be benched by the middle of the season, Odell Beckham Jr. is gone, and their defense could potentially be worse than it was last year when they gave up 25.8 points per game.

The only real bright spot for New York right now is the fact that they have Saquon Barkley on their roster. Barkley was very impressive as a rookie last season, but him being the only legitimate weapon for the Giants on offense could result in his production taking a bit of a dip in the wrong direction this year.

Unless Barkley goes off and plays out of his mind, the Cowboys shouldn’t worry about falling to New York this week.
