352

He accounted for 15 of the team’s 36 offensive touchdowns this past season. He led the league in total yards from scrimmage and finished second in rushing. He captured NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. So what can be expected from talented running back Saquon Barkley in his second year and the Big Blue attack in general in 2019?

There’s one area that needs to step it up and better offensive line play would be a plus after last season’s struggles.

General manager Dave Gettleman may have found some solutions by revamping the right side of that front with the addition of quality right guard Kevin Zeitler, obtained via trade from the Browns, and well-traveled Mike Remmers, who’s spent the majority of his career at tackle. He will man the right side outside spot opposite Nate Solder, whose first season with the Giants was a huge disappointment.

Meanwhile, who knows how the quarterback position will play out all year? Veteran Eli Manning still has the job but the club apparently feels like they have his successor in Daniel Jones. Wide receiver Sterling Shepard and tight end Evan Engram are the top targets. And free-agent pick Golden Tate will join the club after serving a four-game suspension.

In 2018, Barkley touched the ball a combined 352 times. Could that number reach 400-plus this season?
