2. Sam Darnold is named the NFL’s MVP

If the Jets are going to win the Super Bowl then it makes sense that one of their players is in the running for league MVP. That player is Sam Darnold. The USC product played very well over the last quarter of the 2018 season (six touchdown passes, one interception) and showed some very positive signs that he is finally New York’s long-awaited franchise quarterback.

More from NFL Spin Zone

This is the year he takes it to the next level and more. He finished last year with 17 touchdown passes, 15 interceptions and a 57.7 completion percentage in 13 games. His completion percentage needs to improve and Darnold has a great chance to do that with a healthy Quincy Enunwa now and the addition of slot receiver Jamison Crowder. Both will be solid security blankets for Darnold, as will tight end Chris Herndon once he returns from his four-game suspension.

Not only that, but Bell should be a huge factor in the passing game. He is one of the premier pass-catching halfbacks in the league and will grab 70-80 receptions this year if he can remain healthy. Look for Darnold to use him heavily in the screen game. Let’s not forget Robby Anderson as well (more on him upcoming).

The weapons are there for Darnold to take a huge leap and power the Jets to the promised land. He just needs to remain healthy, go through his progressions properly and find his hot reads. The revamped offensive line needs to protect him. When all is said and done, Darnold will guide Gang Green to a 12-4 record and the MVP award. How about that?
