Oakland Raiders: 3 Bold predictions for the 2019 season

3. Derek Carr enters MVP conversation
Aside from the dumpster fire that is the Antonio Brown situation, there is good news in Oakland. Quarterback Derek Carr looks to be in a good place in Jon Gruden’s offense, meaning even with or without AB, the Raiders offense has a chance to be much better in 2019 versus 2018.

So, how does that translate for Carr? Well, for one thing, he has a chance to recapture some of that magic that helped get Oakland to a playoff appearance despite his being injured. With new weapons at his disposal, not only can he find that magic again, but he could find himself the subject of some NFL MVP talk.
Carr doesn’t necessarily need to get the Raiders to the playoffs, though that isn’t such a far fetched notion. He will get Oakland to a place that isn’t 4-12. His efforts in 2019 will have the Raiders out of the AFC West cellar and challenging both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers.
Perhaps with the distraction of the Brown situation now gone, Oakland becomes a team who will make a lot of noise in the division. Such potential takes Carr from a good quarterback to MVP candidate in 2019.
