5. A.J. Terrell, CB, Clemson

The need for cover corners in the NFL can’t be overstated. No matter what, teams will always look for that lockdown corner. A.J. Terrell fits the mold of a prospect who could potentially answer the call at the next level.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Everything about him says boundary corner.  He’s 6-0 with long arms and quick feet. He does a great job mirroring receivers in short areas. When he jams, he strikes with power to throw receivers off their routes.

Terrell stays close to receivers, limiting the amount of space they have to maneuver. When playing off, he clicks and closes in a hurry and his length helps with pass breakups. His long wingspan helps to make up for the times he gets out of position.

Terrell is a sticky corner that squeezes routes and utilizes the sidelines. He’s not for every scheme as teams that run zone or man off may not look at Terrell. Nevertheless, he’s a fluid corner who is a willing tackler that has tools to be a good corner in the NFL.

Thanks to his height, length, speed and fluidity, Terrell could hear his name called in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s a plug-and-play corner with potential and tools to become a Pro Bowl-caliber player.
