6. Philadelphia Eagles

Most people noted that the Philadelphia Eagles had the most complete roster in the NFL as the new season began. Top-to-bottom, that may well be true. If there’s one area where this Eagles team is lacking, though, it’s in the secondary. And that was exposed a bit in their Week 1 matchup against Washington as they had to come from behind and win against an inferior team.

While Malcolm Jenkins is a star and the cornerback group has talented pieces like Ronald Darby, the Eagles need more depth and versatility in the secondary as a whole. That’s pretty much the name of Minkah Fitzpatrick’s game. He would give them relief at safety, an option to line up in the slot and much more, thoroughly solidifying Philadelphia’s as the best roster in the league.

5. Carolina Panthers

Coming off of a disappointing Thursday night showing against the division rival Buccaneers, the Carolina Panthers are now 0-2 to begin the 2019 season and have a lot of questions about their prospects moving forward this season. While some of that is contained to Cam Newton and the offensive line, some of it too should be reserved for a secondary that could use an infusion of young talent like a Minkah Fitzpatrick trade.

Eric Reid and Tre Boston are proven veterans at safety but the argument could be made right off the bat that neither player has the raw talent and definitely not the upside of Fitzpatrick. Furthermore, the Dolphins defensive back’s ability to line up and cover in the slot would aid a secondary that has question marks outside of James Bradberry. A talented team that needs some juice could potentially get some by making a deal with Miami.
