Fantasy Football, Week 2: DFS Bargains on DraftKings
By Drew DeLuca
Running Backs
Austin Ekeler, LAC (at DET), $6,100: Ekeler is a must-start in any PPR format for as long as he’s priced outside of the top 12. Don’t miss out a second time if you weren’t one of those who cashed in on his success last week.
More from NFL Spin Zone
- Dallas Cowboys made the trade everyone else should have made
- Pittsburgh Steelers rookie sleeper everyone should be talking about
- Anthony Richardson putting jaw-dropping talent on display immediately
- Denver Broncos’ stud wide receiver might be out for a while
- Washington Commanders: Three takeaways from win over Ravens
Mark Ingram, BAL (vs. ARI), $6,000: Last week, Lamar Jackson whipped out his supposedly lackluster arm and proved that he’s not just a running back. Expect the actual running back for this team to come up huge, as the Cardinals must now defend the entire football field. Additionally, the Cardinals’ quick pace of play on offense will leave a ton of time on the clock for Ingram to do his thing. Expect a 100-yard day and at least one touchdown.
Kerryon Johnson, DET (vs. LAC), $5,700: The Lions had to have learned their lesson by not involving him more in the gameplan, right? He’s far too talented of a rusher and receiver to not have a day against a defense that just made Marlon Mack look like the second-coming of Edgerrin James.
Matt Breida, SF (at CIN), $5,200: Breida possesses electric burst and top-shelf speed for a running back. He’s the primary beneficiary of Tevin Coleman‘s injury and should receive the lion’s share of the carries against the Bengals. Raheem Mostert ($3,800) is also in line for an expanded workload and offers great value in his own right.
Chris Thompson, WAS (vs. DAL), $3,900: Not only is Thompson a must-add in season-long PPR leagues of all sizes this week, but he’s also a tremendous value play in DFS. After 41 receptions in what amounted to a half-season of work last year, astute fantasy owners recall what a healthy Thompson brings to the table. Meanwhile, despite a probable negative game script, don’t discount what a disrespected Adrian Peterson ($3,400) offers after roaming the sidelines during the first healthy scratch of his storied career.
