2. Vikings Defense

Another standout aspect to the Vikings from the Week 2 contest against the Packers on Sunday afternoon in Lambeau Field was their strong defensive unit. After a rough start to the game, allowing Green Bay to go off for 21 points early on in the opening half, Minnesota’s defense settled down and did a nice job of holding its division rivals in check for a majority of a remainder of the game.

In last week’s victory over the Atlanta Falcons, the Vikings defense kicked off the regular season schedule by displaying their dominance by forcing the Falcons into three turnovers, including two interceptions and one fumble recovery. Minnesota’s special teams unit also was able to block a punt early on in the Week 1 win.

On Sunday afternoon in Week 2 on the road against Green Bay, the Vikings once again were able to force their opponent into multiple turnovers on the offensive side of the ball.

Minnesota ended up forcing Green Bay into two total turnovers in the contest, recovering two Packers fumbles throughout the course of the game.

It’s the second straight week that Minnesota has not only been able to force its opponent into a turnover but into multiple turnovers, which ultimately led to the Vikings being able to take advantage of that and scoring on the other end of the field.

It was a rocky start to the game for one of the top defensive squads in the entire NFL on Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field, but the Vikings defense ended up settling down as the game advanced in a hostile environment on the road and was able to make a difference in helping Minnesota try and get back into the game.
