3. Adam Thielen

The first standout player for the Minnesota Vikings in their Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon in Green Bay was Pro Bowl wideout Adam Thielen. Thielen has put together a nice start to the beginning of the 2019 NFL regular season so far for Minnesota while continuing to improve throughout his professional career, and on Sunday against the Packers he continued is strong start to his sixth season in the league.

In the Week 1 victory over the Falcons at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Thielen hauled in three receptions for a total of 43 yards and one touchdown to pace the Vikings over the Falcons. With a game-long reception of 23 yards, he averaged 14.3 yards per catch for Minnesota in the season-opening win.

On Sunday against Green Bay in Week 2 of the regular season schedule, Thielen was back at it as the Vikings’ standout wide receiver in the contest. With a total of five catches on eight targets, Thielen finished with a team-best 75 yards and recorded a game-long reception of 30 yards.

Through two weeks, the 6-2 wideout out of Division II Minnesota State-Mankato has recorded a total of 118 yards on eight catches and 11 overall targets, also added one touchdown for the Vikings.

Thielen, paired up alongside fellow wide receiver Stefon Diggs on the outside of Minnesota’s offense, is such a big piece to what the Vikings do offensively and specifically within the passing game.

On Sunday in Green Bay, he was once again a key piece to what Minnesota was trying to do offensively and will continue to play a large part within the offensive gameplan moving forward this season.
