4. Bell gets a monster workload

Le’Veon Bell has been a cause for concern for Jets fans throughout the week. Early in the buildup to this game, the prized free-agent signing was held out of practice with a shoulder injury, for which he went to get an MRI. Luckily, the test showed no damage and Bell should now be ready to go against the Browns on Monday night.

In his debut with Gang Green, Bell played an expectedly large role in the offense. He garnered 17 carries on the day, though he went for just 60 yards. However, he was also the second leading receiver on the team behind Crowder as he took in six of his nine targets for 32 yards and a touchdown.

While he was a big-time factor in the Jets offense in Week 1, though, he’s going to have even more to do against the Browns. Given the injuries at wide receiver and the fact that a backup quarterback is at the helm, the Jets will likely look to get the ball out quick in areas where players can make space. That’s the running back’s forte and it wouldn’t be shocking if they feed him relentless.

Gase has said throughout the offseason that they’re going to limit Bell’s touches to some degree but I don’t see that being the case in this matchup. The circumstances call for the running back getting every touch feasible if the Jets want to succeed, so they’ll do just that by giving Bell north of 30 touches on the day.
