Cleveland Browns vs. New York Jets: 5 Bold predictions for Week 2
5. Greedy nabs his first NFL interception
When Greedy Williams fell into the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the reasons weren’t hard to find. While the cornerback displayed tremendous coverage skills throughout his career at LSU, he was often sloppy with his technique and, more importantly, was seemingly not fond of contact in regards to tackling. Thus, he fell right into the Browns’ laps and then earned a starting job.

In the debacle of a matchup against Tennessee, the interesting part of Williams’ performance was that he was blatantly better in the run game as a willing tackler than he was in coverage, where he was burned on a couple of occasions. Against the Jets, however, the rookie corner will show what was the best part in his game in college.
Not only are the Jets starting Trevor Siemian in this matchup on Monday night but the wide receiver corps is lacking severely. Without Quincy Enunwa and with Demaryius Thomas just joining the team, the duo of Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder doesn’t strike that much fear into opposing defenses, especially with the backup throwing them the ball.
As such, Williams is going to be targeted since he’s the rookie but he’ll make at least one splash play against Gang Green. Expect the rookie to be sticky in coverage and pounce on a duck throw to earn his first interception of the season. All told, Williams should have a bounce-back game overall in his second taste of the regular season.
