3. RB Nick Chubb

He’s been a prey steady player since joining the team as a second-round pick a year ago. And once running back Nick Chubb became the main focus of the Cleveland Browns’ running game, it’s been a different story for the team’s offense.

In his first six games during his debut season, the former University of Georgia standout logged a total of 16 carries (3 or less in each contest) for 173 yards and a pair of scores. Both touchdowns and 105 of those yards came on three carries in the team’s overtime loss at Oakland.

But Chubb would start nine of the club’s final 10 outings. There were 176 attempts for 823 yards and six scores, along with 20 receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

In the Week 1 loss to the Tennessee Titans earlier this month, Chubb totaled 20 touches for 85 yards from scrimmage. On Monday night in the 20-point win over the New York Jets, he handled the ball 22 times and rolled up 98 total yards. That included Cleveland’s first touchdown of the evening via a 19-yard run early in the second quarter.

The Browns’ offense has been spotty two games into the season. But Chubb has been an early model of consistency and is picking up where he left off a year ago.
