4. The team isn’t completely without bright spots, even if it seems like it

As mentioned, this Miami Dolphins team has shipped out some extremely talented players. Both Laremy Tunsil and Minkah Fitzpatrick are former first-round picks and there’s a reason that they landed the Phins a strong haul in trading them away. Not having those players for the future certainly hurts things.

Having said that, there are still players that Dolphins fans can get excited about moving forward. Perhaps chief among those players is defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, who Miami selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Clemson product is a stud prospect and a fantastic leader, which should be fun to watch develop even if the team isn’t winning games.

Beyond Wilkins, the team also has fun pieces like Xavien Howard, who they locked up to a long-term contract, and linebacker Raekwon McMillan on defense. Additionally, they may have found a stud in undrafted rookie wide receiver Preston Williams and veteran safety Reshad Jones still remains in place with Miami.

And perhaps the most interesting piece is Josh Rosen. It 100 percent remains to be seen who Rosen is as an NFL quarterback. At the same time, though, seeing what the Dolphins have in the quarterback they traded their 2019 second-round pick for is going to be fascinating. He may not be a building block himself but the team isn’t without some players that they can count on for the long haul.
