3. Doug Marrone

Speaking of teams dealing with quarterback injuries, the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to roll the dice with Gardner Minshew at the end of last weekend’s game against the Houston Texans by going for the two-point conversion, only to come up short.

Of course, this is one of those situations in which Doug Marrone would be seeing plenty of praise if the Texans converted, and earned the win, but since they fell short, the Jaguars head coach now finds himself on the hot seat.

Back in the offseason when the team convinced Nick Foles to come on board to run the offense, the former Super Bowl MVP was supposed to be the missing piece to helping Jacksonville return to the level of being serious contenders in the AFC.

So to watch Foles go down with an injury right away in Week 1 to put the Jaguars in a difficult position on offense, some will view this as an unfair situation for Marrone since he’s making the necessary adjustments without his starting quarterback.

But when taking into consideration the recent mess surrounding Jalen Ramsey as well with the cornerback being unhappy with the team and wanting a trade, it only adds to the list of reasons as to why Marrone finds himself on the hot seat with the Jaguars.
