Before the New England Patriots host the New York Jets on Sunday in Week 3, here are three bold predictions ahead of the contest.

One thing is clear through the first few weeks of the 2019 NFL season: the New England Patriots should be and are a frontrunner to once again reach the Super Bowl in February. Coming off of a Super Bowl victory in 2018, the Patriots have picked up this season right where they left off last February in Atlanta in the title game against the Los Angeles Rams.

New England will head into Week 3 of the regular season on Sunday with a perfect 2-0 record while blowing out its first two opponents of the year, combining to outscore the opposition 73-3 in those two games.

In a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the regular-season opener on Sunday Night Football, the Patriots beat their bitter rivals 33-3, following that performance up with a really impressive all-around 43-0 blowout win over the Miami Dolphins last Sunday.

This week, New England will return back home for its second home game of the regular season schedule, and it will be hosting yet another opponent that has struggled to kick off the year, setting up the stage for another big week for the defending champions.

In Week 3 on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium, the Patriots will welcome in the New York Jets into Foxborough, facing their second straight AFC East division opponent.

New England, which sits atop the AFC East standings in front of the Jets, Dolphins and Buffalo Bills, will take on a New York team that is 0-2 on the year while coming off of an ugly loss to the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football in Week 2.

As they have been the past two weeks, the Patriots will once again be heavily favored in the game for the third week in a row. New England is looking to improve to 3-0 to start the year for the first time since it did so to kick off the 2016 campaign.

Before the Patriots take on the Jets in the third week of the regular season, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for New England as it heads into Sunday afternoon’s contest at home.
