Stud: D.J.

A second-round pick in 2018, D.J. Chark made little to no impact as a rookie with the Jaguars last season. To start the 2019 campaign, though, the Jacksonville wide receiver has been a star for this offense, whether it’s Nick Foles or Gardner Minshew throwing the ball his way. That continued in the win over the Titans on Thursday night.

Chark led the way for the Jaguars offense, catching four of his five targets for 76 yards and a touchdown. Through three games now, the LSU product has 15 receptions for 277 yards and three scores (one in each of the team’s three games to this point). That’s already well past his output for his entire rookie season and Chark could be on track for a monster year if this continues.

Dud: Dede

Just looking at the box score for Thursday night, you might think that Dede Westbrook had a solid outing. He finished the outing with five catches for 46 yards and led the team with nine targets. However, the Oklahoma product’s night actually held the Jaguars back from an even more dominant victory over their AFC South rivals.

Westbrook had drops on three separate passes thrown his way, including one that would’ve been a touchdown had he been able to secure it. There’s no question that the wide receiver consistently made plays in his route-running to get open against the Titans secondary. But if he’s not going to be able to secure good passes, then what good does that do Jacksonville? That’s something that can’t continue moving forward.
