Head coach Kyle Shanahan finally has his quarterback and is finally winning. He had to go without him in 2018 as Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a torn ACL in Week 3 and that led to them winning just four games on the season. Now with Garoppolo healthy, the Niners are 3-0 which has hopes much higher than they were this time last year.

In their latest game, they were able to knock off the Pittsburgh Steelers by four points, but they have to have some empathy for the team they just beat. Pittsburgh was starting Mason Rudolph due to an injury to Ben Roethlisberger who will miss the remainder of the season.

Even so, San Francisco did what they had to do and what was really impressive was the way they won. Garoppolo wasn’t at his best in this one, throwing two picks, but their running game was dominant. And it hasn’t been the high-priced additions Jerick McKinnon or Tevin Coleman.

Instead, there was Raheem Mostert running for 79 yards on 12 carries and Matt Breida ripping off 68 yards on 14 carries. They got another player involved as Jeff Wilson, Jr. had just 18 yards but he ran two touchdowns for the 49ers. Now, they take a week off as they have a Week 4 bye before trying to continue their hot start.
