Loser: Odell Beckham Jr.

In a game where the Browns were moving the ball seemingly at will, especially in the second half, the big-name acquisition of the 2019 offseason was almost wholly nowhere to be found. Odell Beckham Jr. was matched up with Marlon Humphrey for much of the day and, outside of getting into a fight with the cornerback, he didn’t show up on the tape much at all in that matchup.

Though OBJ was targeted seven times on the day, he finished the game with just two catches for 20 yards on the day. We know the big-play ability that the former Giants wideout possesses but, in a tough matchup where Landry was used heavily and so effectively, it was admittedly disappointing to see Beckham not make more of an impact.

Winner: Ricky Seals-Jones

With David Njoku out of action, there’s no question that the Cleveland Browns are lacking name recognition at tight end. At the same time, they showed last week with red zone targets for Demetrius Harris that they are still going to get the tight ends involved in the offense. On Sunday, it was Ricky Seals-Jones getting in the mix and he made it pay off for Freddie Kitchens and Todd Monken.

Seals-Jones had two of the biggest offensive plays of the game that didn’t involve Chubb. He beat his matchup handily in the red zone to give Mayfield his only passing touchdown of the day but also got open and made an athletic play down the right sideline to set up another score. If he can do that consistently, the Browns can survive just fine without Njoku in the fold.
