Stud: Jameis Winston

Simply put, Jameis Winston took the Rams’ secondary to school. Throughout the majority of the game, Winston zipped passes to his receivers whenever he pleased. While wide receiver Chris Godwin was evidently his favorite target, Winston also connected with both wide receiver Mike Evans and Cameron Brate for scores as well.

Despite throwing an interception that was returned for a touchdown by cornerback Marcus Peters, Winston’s performance indicates that he possesses the skill set to lead the Bucs offense successfully. It’s now just a matter of remaining consistent and keeping turnovers at a minimum, which has been the quarterback’s struggle for quite some time.

Dud: O.J. Howard

Through four games, O.J. Howard has yet to not only score a touchdown but have any impact on the field at all. Finishing with three receptions for 33 yards in Los Angeles, Howard did not play a major role in this Buccaneers’ win.

In addition, it is discouraging to see that, through four weeks, Howard has only been targeted a total of 12 times, which includes a game against the Carolina Panthers where he was never targeted.

Nonetheless, it is an encouraging sign to see that, despite this, he has caught 10 of those 12 targets. Hopefully, head coach Bruce Arians and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich can go back to the drawing board and see how to get Howard more involved in the offense.
