19. Gordon finds end zone for first time in 2019

Melvin Gordon may not be happy over his current contract situation with the Los Angeles Chargers, but hopefully if the running back continues to play his cards right, the team will reward him sooner rather than later.

Technically, Gordon could have played last weekend for the Chargers if needed, but since Los Angeles was facing a winless team in the Miami Dolphins, this was a situation in which they could afford to wait another week.

Up next, the Chargers will face another winless team in the Denver Broncos, who appeared to be heading towards their first win of 2019 last Sunday before losing at the last second to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As usual, the Broncos’ defense has been doing most of the heavy lifting so far this season, and will be in for another tough challenge when facing the Chargers on Sunday.

Division rivalries always bring out the best in teams, and when assuming the intensity that will most likely be on display, Los Angeles could be in for that extra effort from someone like Gordon on offense.

Most players in Gordon’s situation tend to be a bit rusty once their holdout comes to an end, for for the sake of the Chargers, here’s to hoping this turns out to be far from the case.
