Stud: Adam Thielen

Adam Thielen had a standout performance a week after he caught some criticism over his post-game comments following Minnesota’s loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 4.

Leading the wide receiving group, Thielen finished the game on Sunday afternoon in the Big Apple with a total of 130 yards and two touchdowns receiving on seven catches to pace the Vikings through the air. In the opening half alone, Thielen managed to record 121 yards and one touchdown receiving on six catches.

It was good to see Minnesota establish its passing game early on and often in Sunday’s contest, and Thielen played a large role in the Vikings getting that portion of their offense back on track.

Dud: Turnovers on offense

The first dud in the Week 5 game for Minnesota on Sunday afternoon was its inability to avoid turning the ball over, especially in the opening half.

In the game, the Vikings finished with a total of three turnovers, consisting of three fumbles — one from Kirk Cousins and two from Dalvin Cook — in the first two quarters alone.

Outside of turning the ball over, the Vikings offense looked strong against the Giants in the fifth week of the regular season, but they are going to want to try and clean up the turnovers moving forward this year.
