Stud: Michael Gallup

Wide receiver Michael Gallup hadn’t played since Week 2 after suffering a knee injury. He was expected to miss several games as he had to have a procedure to clean up the meniscus but wound up coming back much quicker than anticipated. And when he hit the field, there were no signs of rust whatsoever.

The second-year receiver caught seven passes for 113 yards and scored a touchdown, which was an impressive play. Gallup pulled the ball down in tight coverage and then broke a tackle as he fought his way past the goal line for a 40-yard touchdown.

This ended up being the first touchdown of the night for Dallas and allowed them to try and make it a game. Gallup had a great start to the season and kept it going here.

Dud: Brett Maher

Dallas went to the half down 17-0, but they were hoping it would have been 17-3. With the half coming to a close, they had moved the ball to the Green Bay 36 and trotted out Brett Maher after their drive stalled.

The second-year kicker has plenty of leg to hit from that distance but he whiffed on this one as it sailed wide right. If that wasn’t enough, Maher then missed with a chance to make it a single-score game.

Down 34-24, Dallas was trying for a miracle and called on Maher. He hit a 28-yard kick but a false start nullified the make. He then tried again from 33 and sailed it right. Sure, even had he made the kick, the chances of an onside recovery were slim but they never even got to try it thanks to Maher’s miss.
