8. Buffalo Bills (15)

Don’t look now, but the Buffalo Bills are legit. They played Tennessee this weekend and fought their way to a 14-7 win in what was a defensive battle. Head coach Sean McDermott has a background as a defensive coordinator, so seeing his team play in such a hard-fought game is really not a surprise at all.

In addition to their great defense, the Bills were able to control the clock by running for 109 yards. The ageless wonder Frank Gore led the way with 60 yards and second-year quarterback Josh Allen added 27 yards on the ground while throwing the only two touchdowns of the game.

Now at 4-1, the Bills are proving to be a good team that should be taken seriously. This win was also their third win of the season on the road, making them 3-0 away from Buffalo. As for their one loss on the season, it was a 16-10 defeat at the hands of the New England Patriots, which is nothing to be ashamed of.

As long as their defense keeps stepping up, this team could be in the mix for the playoffs as the season winds down. That’s an impressive feat for a team that looked lost just a couple of seasons ago.
