6. Seattle Seahawks (8)

Now 4-1 after holding off the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football, the Seattle Seahawks are looking like serious contenders in the NFC. Entering the year, there were concerns as to whether or not that would be the case as Seattle had undergone yet another big change.

After a quick playoff exit in 2018, the ‘Hawks lost their most complete wide receiver as Doug Baldwin was released and subsequently retired due to too many injuries that he was unable to bounce back from. They also officially lost Earl Thomas, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens which meant that all members of the Legion of Boom were now gone.

Despite all this, Seattle keeps playing hard and they scored a one-point win — thanks to a missed field goal by Greg Zuerlein — over the defending NFC West champions. Of course, the biggest reason for their early success is clearly the play of quarterback Russell Wilson.

On Thursday, he again had a great game, throwing for 268 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. It was another notch on his belt as he’s an early candidate for league MVP along with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Russell Wilson.

Should he continue to play at this level, there’s no telling how far the Seahawks can go, especially if they could start to get more production from Ezekiel Ansah and Jadeveon Clowney.
