2. Jim Harbaugh (Michigan Head Coach)

You’re probably wondering why a college football head coach currently on the hot seat for not being able to get over the hope would be given the opportunity to coach the Washington Redskins. While that’s a fair question, Jim Harbaugh‘s shortcomings at Michigan can be chalked up to the simple fact that he’s never been a man long for a job. He’s a guy who runs his course but can enjoy success at the same time.

Harbaugh ended up at Michigan after he was let go by the San Francisco 49ers following the 2014 season. However, his departure was not due to an overall lack of success. His 8-8 effort that year was the worst record of his four-year tenure, winning double-digit games in the other three seasons and finishing with a 44-19-1 record. Perhaps a return to the NFL would reignite Harbaugh’s success and, in turn, invigorate the Redskins.

1. Eric Bieniemy (Chiefs Offensive Coordinator)

Continuing the string of potentially high-profile offensive-minded hires to replace Jay Gruden in Washington, current Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy may be at the top of the list. Though he’s been at that position only since the beginning of last season, the prowess of the Chiefs offense speaks for itself.

Even if Bieniemy is merely working under the direction of Kansas City head coach Andy Reid, he’s garnered valuable experience under one of the best head coaches in the NFL. Furthermore, his experience with Patrick Mahomes and the high-octane KC offense could serve the Redskins well in their development of an offense around 2019 first-round pick Dwayne Haskins.
