Detroit Lions (2-1-1) at Green Bay Packers (4-1)

Monday, October 14, 8:15PM ET

Like in most divisional showdowns, it’s anyone’s guess who will come away with the W. However, in the case of this battle between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, I can’t find a way to justify picking the Lions to get the win.

The Packers just have too much going for them heading into Week 6. They’ve got a dangerous offense featuring Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and one of the best young running backs in the NFL, Aaron Jones. They’ll be pitting that group against the Lions defense, which is allowing 405.5 yards per game — good for 26th in the league.

The only thing that’s kept the Lions alive this season has been (surprisingly) their offense. Matthew Stafford has looked like the franchise quarterback Detroit is paying him to be, and his wide array of pass-catching options haven’t disappointed. The presence of a capable running game has also helped keep opposing defenses on their heels.

Unfortunately for Detroit, it won’t be enough against their NFC North foes. Green Bay’s defense is too good. They’ll create turnovers, put plenty of pressure on Stafford, and force more turnovers than the Lions can overcome. Another tight affair, but the Packers improve to 5-1.

Prediction: Packers win 23-21
