20. Gordon finally records first rushing touchdown
After finally watching Melvin Gordon‘s holdout come to an end, the Los Angeles Chargers were excited to get the running back going in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. Not only did the Chargers end up finishing on the wrong end of an upset, but Gordon struggled to get anything going against the Broncos after rushing for just 31 yards on 12 carries.

Unfortunately, it can be quite common in the NFL to see a player struggle after missing significant time during a holdout, but this certainly doesn’t make Los Angeles feel better over what took place during their loss to Denver.
With an upcoming matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Gordon and the Chargers will be in for another tough challenge against a defense looking to bounce back after coming up short last weekend against the Baltimore Ravens.
No matter what, Los Angeles needs to figure out a way to give Gordon as many carries as possible to help him get to that necessary level on offense for the Chargers.
Maybe if Gordon finds a way to get into the end zone, it will provide the running back with an extra confidence boost to help Los Angeles keep things close in the AFC West race.
