Dallas Cowboys: 5 Bold predictions vs. Jets, Week 6
By Randy Gurzi
3. Dak plays error-free
Dak Prescott is on pace to throw for more yards and touchdowns than he ever has in his career. And it’s not even close. In five games, he’s averaging 321.2 yards per outing, which projects to 5,139 yards. He’s also throwing 2.2 touchdowns per game which would be 35.2 should he be able to continue at that rate.
On the other side of the coin, he’s also throwing picks at a much higher rate. Entering Week 6, he’s already had six interceptions meaning he’s averaging 1.2 each game. Multiply that by 16 total games and he’s at 19 for the season. That’s concerning considering he had just 25 in his first three seasons in the NFL.
Overall, he’s still having a fantastic season and has a higher rating than he’s ever had in his career. Should he be able to limit the mistakes, some people might finally be forced to give him some credit for being a good player — not everyone will, but maybe a few will start.
A struggling Jets team is exactly what Prescott needs in order to shake off the early season ball control issues. This prediction is that he finds a way to lead Dallas to a win and in doing so, keeps from throwing an interception or losing a fumble — which could help him turn the corner in this department.
