1. Russell Wilson carries Seattle to victory

This may finally be the year that Russell Wilson gets the recognition he deserves. I’ve been saying for a while now that Wilson has the skills of a Hall of Fame quarterback. We saw it back in 2017 when he led the league in passing touchdowns. While that year was good, he’s having the best campaign of his career this season.

Coming off of 2018, in which Seattle’s offense was overwhelmingly run dominant, Wilson has a new contract and a heavier workload. He’s attempting 31 passes per game this year while he only attempted 26 per game in 2018. Not surprisingly, his raw production has risen. Wilson is averaging 284 passing yards per game.

He also has more nuances stats. His 124.7 passer rating is the highest in the league. His 7.4 touchdown percentage also sits atop the charts. Perhaps, most importantly, Wilson has yet to throw an interception. This season, the only other quarterback to attempt at least 100 passes and not throw an interception is Kyle Allen. Allen has 122 attempts and seven touchdowns. Wilson has 189 attempts and 14 touchdowns. He’s also run for 151 yards and three more touchdowns this season.

Despite Seattle’s flaws on defense and their lack of overwhelming offensive talent, Wilson has the team sitting at 5-1. Be it through the air or not he ground, he has willed this team to win games this season. Even if Carson gets bottled up and even if Thomas intercepts a pass, I believe Wilson will find a way to have the Seahawks come out on top in Week 7.
