The New York Jets are now 1-4 heading into their battle with New England on Monday night. Here are three Gang Green players with rising stock.

The New York Jets finally have some hope — finally, thanks to Sam Darnold. It’s nice to have a young quarterback who seems to know what he’s doing. He’ll get the biggest test of his young career on Monday night in Week 7 at MetLife Stadium when he battles the undefeated New England Patriots.

The 1-4 Jets actually have a chance to win this matchup. Let’s take a look at three members of Gang Green with rising stock in a bull market.

Sam Darnold: This one is obvious. Welcome back, young man.

Having the USC product makes all the difference in the world for this team. Adam Gase can expand his playbook. Darnold can escape pressure, throw on the run and he displayed a powerful arm when he fired a 92-yard scoring strike to Robby Anderson, the longest play from scrimmage in the NFL this season.

His needle is only pointing up now that he appears healthy again. Look at those numbers against the Cowboys: 23-of-32 for 338 yards (the second-highest total of his career), two touchdowns and one interception. Could Luke Falk ever come close to that? No way.

Robby Anderson: The lanky speed demon from Temple finally has a signal-caller that can deliver the ball deep to him, his forte. Anderson finished with a game-high 125 yards receiving and a touchdown on eight targets in New York’s 24-22 triumph over Dallas last Sunday and more good things should be forthcoming.

True, he has a difficult matchup upcoming against Stephon Gilmore and the Pats on Monday night but there should be blue skies ahead with Darnold back in the saddle. Anderson has worked hard on expanding his route tree but the threat of his game-breaking speed getting past safety help has to worry opposing defensive coordinators.

Look for the Cowboys game to be the springboard contest this season for Robby the Rocket.

Jamal Adams: The fiery Pro Bowl safety made the play of the game against Dallas when he blitzed Dak Prescott and forced him to throw the ball prematurely, resulting in an incomplete pass on a two-point conversion attempt in the waning seconds of Gang Green’s initial win of the season. The emotional leader of the defensive unit, Adams was all over the field last Sunday.

He concluded the contest with eight tackles, including a team-high 1.5 tackles for loss. He paces the club with four passes defensed and is stout in the box when called upon to stop the run. More importantly, Adams continues to evolve into one of the premier safeties in the league.

No one plays with more desire and passion. That has to rub off on his teammates. His future is only going to get brighter if he can remain healthy.
