Buffalo Bills: 3 Players to target at 2019 NFL Trade Deadline
By Randy Gurzi
As much hope as the Bill have that Josh Allen can be the man, they haven’t done the best job adding talent around him. There’s a collection of shorter receivers and a raw tight end in Dawson Knox. What they need is someone with size who he can go to over the middle of the field, and in the red zone.
A potentially available player who they could look to in order to fill that role is David Njoku of the Cleveland Browns. He was Cleveland’s third pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft and has had a good start to his career.

After grabbing 32 passes for 386 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie, Njoku improved upon those numbers in year two. That season, he had 56 catches for 639 yards and four more touchdowns.
However, he was then called out by general manager John Dorsey for his struggles as a blocker. He has yet to prove he’s improved much there as he was injured in the Browns second game of the season. He has yet to return to the field but there’s no reason to think he won’t be back soon.
As long as he’s available to be traded before the deadline, Buffalo should be interested. Njoku could be traded due to the emergence of Ricky Seals-Jones, who has played well in his absence.
Where Njoku would really help Buffalo is in the red zone. This is where he’s made his mark for the Browns due to his size, athleticism, and soft hands. That alone would make him worth adding.
