3. Wil Lutz

Fans of a given team can take the kicker position for granted but, for the Saints, Wil Lutz has been a game-changer. When Drew Brees was out there, the Saints didn’t rely as much on Lutz as Brees was able to make plays and move the sticks. With Bridgewater taking over, he isn’t nearly as experienced as Brees and, usually, doesn’t end up finishing the drive with a touchdown.

That’s where Lutz has come in handy this season. Looking at last week, for example, the Saints put 13 points on the board. Bridgewater threw a touchdown with Lutz making the extra point but before that even happened, the Saints relied on Lutz for two field goals. It’s clear to see that Lutz is a huge asset to the team especially since he made both of his field goals.

Heading into Week 7, I look for Lutz to help the Saints put points on the board. Thankfully for the team, Lutz is almost always on the money. Considering that the Saints paid him during the offseason, then there’s no reason why he shouldn’t come in clutch.

While other special teams players get the glory, Wil Lutz is part of the reason why the Saints keep winning and no doubt he’s going to make an impact against the Bears, too.
