New England Patriots: 3 Players that must shine vs. Jets in Week 7
Before the New England Patriots battle the New York Jets in Week 7 on Monday, here are three Patriots players that will have to step up and shine in the game.
Nearing the midway point in the 2019 NFL regular season, the New England Patriots remain as the lone undefeated team in the AFC. Along with the San Francisco 49ers as the lone two undefeated teams in the NFL, the Patriots have yet to fall in a game heading into a Monday Night Football matchup in Week 7.
While rolling early on in the year to this point, New England will face another AFC East opponent on the national stage on the road. They’ll travel to MetLife Stadium for a primetime matchup with the New York Jets.
New England comes into the contest having cruised by the New York Giants in Week 6 at home in Foxborough, taking down New York 35-14 to stay perfect on the season. In that victory, New England jumped out to an early lead over New York at home and pushed the game out of reach in the fourth quarter to secure the win at Gillette Stadium.
With the win a little over a week ago, the Patriots improved to a perfect 6-0 on the year heading into the Monday night matchup against the Jets and remain as the top team in the AFC East standings, sitting in front of the Buffalo Bills, Jets and Miami Dolphins in the division.
On the other side of the field on Monday, New York comes into the divisional showdown against the defending Super Bowl Champions coming off of a big win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Jets defeated the Cowboys 24-22, escaping a late-game comeback attempt by Dallas, to grab their first win of the 2019 campaign and improve to 1-4 overall advancing into Week 7 this week.
New England is once again a favorite this week in the Monday night contest against New York, and for obvious reasons.
