NFL Power Rankings, Week 8: Cowboys find spark, Raiders look like pretenders

2. San Francisco 49ers (2)
No team can be perfect every game and that was the case for the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday. Their Week 7 game took place across the country as they were in Washington D.C. to play the Redskins. They not only had to worry about a team that could possibly be more focused due to the firing of their head coach, but there was also some rough weather to contend with.

The weather ended up being their biggest rival as quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo struggled to move the ball through the air. He ended up with just 151 yards and no touchdowns — with one interception — on 12-of-21 passing. The running game was better, netting 137 yards on 39 carries but even that was lower than normal as they had just 3.5 yards per attempt. They also were unable to score a touchdown all game.
In the end, it didn’t matter as they were able to move to 6-0 as the defense made life hell for Case Keenum and the Redskins offense. San Francisco managed just nine points but the defense pitched a shutout as they remained perfect.
Good teams are able to win when everything is going right for them. Contending teams can win even when things aren’t going well. Frisco proved once again this season that they’re for real as they won despite the poor conditions and their inability to punch in any touchdowns.
