28. New York Giants (28)

The good news for the New York Giants is they got Saquon Barkley back on the field. One of the more exciting players in the entire NFL, he opens up their entire offense. After missing the past three games, Barkley was able to get 72 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown. The bad news is, quarterback Daniel Jones continued to struggle and they fell to 2-5 with a loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

After taking over for Eli Manning in Week 3, Jones was the talk of the league. The No. 6 overall pick led them to a one-point win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while throwing for 336 yards with two scores and no interceptions. He then followed that up with a 24-3 beat down of the Washington Redskins.

This had fans hyped in New York, and Dave Gettleman’s bagel guy was being interviewed for general manager jobs all over the NFL. Then, he started to struggle. They lost their past two games and added a third-straight defeat this week. He’s also been bad with ball security since that first win, throwing seven interceptions and just four touchdowns since then.

New York’s offensive line isn’t doing much at all to help. Jones was sacked 10 times in his first four starts and there were eight more on Sunday. At this pace, he might not make it through his first season in the NFL.

As frustrating as all that is, the decision making of head coach Pat Shurmur continued to make poor decisions, including going for it on fourth-and-15 late in the game even though he had two timeouts and the two-minute warning to work with.
