New York Jets (1-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4)

Sunday, October 27, 1PM ET

If you’ve followed my picks and predictions this year, then you know I’m a firm believer of the Minshew Magic. Despite the Jacksonville Jaguars’ other flaws, the young gunslinger has done a great job of stepping up to the plate and keeping this club competitive.

So, in Week 8, I’m putting my faith in Gardner Minshew again. While the Jaguars don’t exactly have the toughest of matchups, it’s not like the New York Jets are that much worse than they are. In fact, some would say these teams are pretty evenly matched, especially with Sam Darnold now back in the lineup.

Still, I have to give this one to Jacksonville. They’ve been the better team through seven weeks, and aren’t coming off a complete dismantling on Monday night. Their defense is slightly better, and they’ve got the combination of Minshew and Leonard Fournette on offense to ensure the points don’t dry up by halftime.

The Jets are a mess this season, as many assumed they would be. While the early-season loss of Darnold and other injuries didn’t help their case, it’s clear this is a rebuilding year for Gang Green. The Jaguars will help remind them of that on Sunday.

Prediction: Jaguars win 20-9
