Cleveland Browns (2-4) at New England Patriots (7-0)

Sunday, October 27, 4:25PM ET

Can we get the Patriots some serious competition already? They’ve cruised through the first half of the 2019 campaign, having outscored their opponents 223-48. Unfortunately for the Cleveland Browns, I don’t expect we’ll hear a different song in Week 8.

It’s been a rough go of things for the Browns this season. Baker Mayfield is suffering through a rather nasty sophomore slump, and the entire Cleveland offense is faltering as a result. The defense also isn’t living up to its potential, despite the outstanding efforts of a few key players. As a whole, the Browns simply aren’t getting it done.

That’ll continue to be the case in Week 8, when they’re forced to venture into hostile territory to take on the defending champs. Tom Brady is going to lay out the door mat, welcome them inside, and dish out a beating the likes of which they’ve become surprisingly accustomed to this year.

It won’t be pretty. The Browns won’t keep things close. Mayfield isn’t suddenly going to turn his season around with a career-best performance. New England will keep on rolling, allowing their lights-out defense to feast on the hobbled animal that is this Browns squad.

Prediction: Patriots win 41-17
