Stud: Stefon Diggs

Stefon Diggs has been stellar for Minnesota as of late, tallying his third straight game of over 100 yards receiving in the victory over Washington. Without Adam Thielen playing in the game, who was out of the contest with a hamstring injury, Diggs led the Vikings wide receiving corps with a game-best 143 yards on seven catches and seven overall targets. With an average of 20.4 yards per catch, Diggs recorded a game-long catch of 39 yards in the win.

Without Thielen, many figured Diggs would be in line for a big game on the outside of the field for Minnesota. With the exception of a fumble early on in the contest, Diggs had one of his best performances of the year and will look to keep that rolling in a big game against Kansas City in Week 9.

Dud: Early fumble issues

As mentioned above when talking about Diggs’ performance, the wide receiver and this Minnesota squad got off to a bit of a rough start on Thursday Night Football with a key turnover early on in the contest.

On a breakout reception in the opening half, Diggs hauled in a pass from quarterback Kirk Cousins and broke out in the middle of the field, only to have the ball pop out and cough up the possession to Washington early on. That turnover didn’t ultimately hurt Minnesota too much, but it obviously wasn’t an ideal way to start the game at home for the Vikings.
