3. Defense holds the Cardinals to under 15 points

The Saints’ defense has been devastatingly good. Once known as the laughing stock of the NFL, the team has invested in a lot of guys, paid others and acquired a few free agents to help build one of the strongest defenses in the league.

As mentioned with their stat line against the Bears, they were on fire and had no problem putting a beatdown on Chicago. Coming into Week 8, I’m going to expect nothing less from them against the Cardinals. While their stat line might not be as impressive, I predict that the Saints defense will hold the Cardinals to under 15 points. They’ve only achieved that feat twice this season, against the Cowboys and the Jaguars.

With the Cardinals winning their last three outings, the team is on a hot streak — but that will be no longer in play if the Saints defense has anything to say about it. The Cardinals put up 10 points against the Seahawks but managed at least 20 against their other opponents.

Most notably, Cameron Jordan and Demario Davis are going to get pressure on rookie Kyler Murray as they did against Garder Minshew in Week 6. With those two guys in his face, Murray is bound to make mistake, possibly resulting in turnovers.

Regardless, the Saints have proven themselves time and time again. Holding the Cardinals to under 15 points isn’t going to be easy but they can do it. As impressive as the Cardinals streak is, it’s going to come to an end. The Saints aren’t going to lose what could possibly their first game back with Brees.
