4. Eli Manning, New York Giants

Eli Manning is part of NFL royalty. His days in New York as the quarterback of the Giants is a mixed bag when you consider or have trouble remembering that Manning has won two Super Bowls. Still, with two rings, most see Eli and think, meh.

I get that. He’s not like his brother, Peyton, who is equal parts celebrity, comedian, and a sure-fire Hall Of Famer. Eli Manning is far more wallflower than NFL celebrity.

It’s more than likely that Eli also has some gas left in the tank. For a ready to win team who needs a quarterback, Manning is a good option. And given how 2019 has gone in New York, Manning might want to go out on his own terms versus those dictated by an organization trying to climb out of the cellar.

Manning is a stand-up guy who gets it. But he also knows if he’s going to start again, that the window to do so is small and closing. Eli too could be thinking about a reboot in a city that is not New York or New Jersey. Suitors might need to pay a higher than average price, but the payoff could be worth it for both Manning and a new team.
