San Francisco 49ers (7-0) at Arizona Cardinals (3-4-1)
Thursday, October 31, 8:20PM ET
Last week, I made the mistake of picking the Carolina Panthers to upset the San Francisco 49ers. They put me in my place, hanging 51 points on their NFC South opponent and improving their record to 7-0. Suffice it to say, San Francisco can no longer be doubted.

That’s partly why I’m going with the 49ers to take the win in this Week 9 showdown. That, and the fact that they’ve got one of the NFL’s most dominant defenses and an extremely efficient offense led by Jimmy Garoppolo and San Francisco’s multi-faceted run game.
In the other corner, we’ve got the Arizona Cardinals. Now we can’t completely count them out. They are 3-4-1 this season, but have won three of their last four outings. Despite being last in the NFC West, they’ve shown well this year despite a number of hurdles to overcome. Unfortunately, we won’t see any more notches added to the win column in Week 9.
San Francisco’s defense will get the best of Kyler Murray, forcing the young gunslinger into too many mistakes. On the offensive end, the 49ers will take advantage of the Cardinals’ less-than-stellar defensive unit. Don’t be surprised if this one gets ugly quickly.
Prediction: 49ers win 37-17
