3. Ryan has continued to be consistent

The first observation for the Atlanta Falcons as they enter their bye week in Week 9 of the 2019 NFL regular season is that Falcons veteran quarterback and former MVP Matt Ryan has been consistent for the most part for the majority of the year.

Ryan, in his 12th season in the NFL and with Atlanta here in 2019, has tallied a total of 2,170 yards and 15 touchdowns through the air in seven games so far to lead the Falcons’ high-powered offense.

While completing 202 passes on a total of 285 attempts to grab a completion percentage of 70.9 percent, Ryan is averaging 7.8 yards per pass attempt and has thrown for a total of eight interceptions under center for Atlanta.

Over the past few weeks, however, Ryan has dealt with a few injuries that has put somewhat of a bump in the road for the veteran quarterback in trying to help end his teams losing streak and lead the Falcons to their second victory of the season.

Ryan, who suffered an ankle injury during Atlanta’s Week 7 contest against the Los Angeles Rams at home in Atlanta, was forced to leave the game against Los Angeles and didn’t end up returning to the matchup.

Last weekend leading up to the Falcons’ bye week, Ryan attempted to try and return back to the field for Atlanta but wasn’t able to get himself healthy enough to play in the defeat to Seattle at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

The bye week will be good for both Atlanta and Ryan to rest up and try and get back to being fully healthy moving into the 10th week of the regular season next weekend.

Outside of that injury, however, Ryan has put together a nice start to the 2019 campaign and has continued to be consistent for the Falcons like we have been able to see from the veteran quarterback for the majority of his career up to this point.
