Scouting Report. Arizona Cardinals. player. 32. Pick Analysis. DT. Derrick Brown. 11

The Arizona Cardinals have been better than expected this season. Rookie head coach Kliff Kingsbury has the offense slowly improving with Kyler Murray under center and they should take even more steps forward as they develop their plethora of young talent. Their 2018 draft class was good on paper but it will take a few years to see whether or not they all pan out.

What we do know right now is the defense is struggling in all phases. They’re not very good in any particular area and can go with pretty much any position on that side of the ball here and see progress. What they end up doing is grabbing Derrick Brown, the big defensive lineman from Auburn.

He’s a huge lineman at 6-foot-5 and nearly 320-pounds but can play all over their three-man line and wreak havoc. He returned for his senior season despite already being considered a first-round talent and did nothing but increase his stock with 29 tackles and four sacks in the first eight games.

Pick Analysis. Los Angeles Chargers. Jalen Hurts. 12. 13. Scouting Report. QB. player

If the Los Angeles Chargers are really ready to move on from Philip Rivers, this would be the draft to do so. There are several players who could go day one that could become potential franchise quarterbacks. One player who has inserted himself into that discussion this season is Jalen Hurts. A National Champion with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Hurts spent last season as a backup to Tua Tagovailoa and continued to prepare for his shot in the NFL.

He then transferred to Oklahoma and has been a monster this season. Hurts has completed 73.9 percent of his passes for 2,469 yards with 21 touchdowns and just three picks. He’s also destroyed defenses with his legs, going for 801 yards and another 13 touchdowns.

None of this is surprising to anyone who watched him early on at Alabama but doing so with the Sooners has put him in the spotlight as he looks to be the third-straight first-round selection at quarterback under Lincoln Riley.
