Seattle Seahawks (7-2) at San Francisco 49ers (8-0)

Monday, November 11, 8:15PM ET

I’d hate to rain on Russell Wilson’s MVP-candidate parade, but there’s only so much he can do to will the Seattle Seahawks to victory. In what figures to become a shootout, it simply won’t be enough for the magical gunslinger to outduel the San Francisco 49ers.

The Seahawks simply aren’t good enough defensively to get the job done. That seems strange considering how awesome their defense has been over the years, but it’s true. They’re giving up far too many points in 2019. Against a 49ers team that’s averaging 29.4 points per game and has put up 79 points over the last two weeks, Seattle seems to be in trouble.

Look for Jimmy Garoppolo to get going early, taking advantage of the Seahawks’ susceptible secondary on a regular basis. Even if the visiting team finds a way to slow down the air assault, the 49ers should be able to move it on the ground with ease as they’ve done all year long.

Wilson will do his very best to keep this from getting out of hand, and will likely succeed. Unfortunately, this 49ers team is just too unstoppable right now for the Seahawks quarterback to do it all on his own.

Prediction: 49ers win 42-34
