Minnesota Vikings: 3 Players that must shine vs. Cowboys in Week 10
3. Vikings defense
The first aspect of the game that is going to have to shine for the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10 of the regular season schedule in an NFC showdown against the Dallas Cowboys on the road is the Vikings defense. Throughout the course of the last few seasons, Minnesota has held one of the top defensive units in all of the NFL, proving week in and week out that it is able to match up against any high-powered offense throughout the league.

Over the last few games, however, the Vikings defense has taken a bit of a step back in a few matchups while providing oppositions with opportunities to take advantage of Minnesota on their offensive end of the field.
More notably, in the Week 9 loss at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Vikings defensive unit allowed the Chiefs high-powered offense to break out of numerous big plays throughout the course of the game and especially in the second half of the contest, something that has hurt Minnesota for a majority of the year.
In the defeat on the road, the Vikings let up a handful of big plays to the Chiefs down the stretch of the contest that changed the course of the game and shifted any and all momentum back to Kansas City that in return led the Chiefs to pull out the last-second win.
In Week 10 against another tough offensive unit in the Cowboys that has the ability to turn things up behind quarterback Dak Prescott, the Vikings will need to limit the number of big plays that Dallas is able to record on its end of the field.
If Minnesota is able to do that, it takes the pressure off of its offensive group and will set itself up to try and get back in the win column and come away with a nice road victory on the national stage of Sunday Night Football.
